Tournaments
We will be sponsoring a number of tournaments at Bentley Upper School with students, as well as faculty members. Additionally, we plan to host tournaments with Bentley Lower School and Upper School to encourage community building around the amazing game of chess. Please check back here for more information and dates! In the meantime, we highly recommend you to sign up for chess.com and practice your strategy.
Workshops
To improve our chess skills, we host workshops led by students and faculty on their favorite chess strategies, historical figures in chess, the history of the game, benefits of learning how to play. Many of our weekly meetings will be all about getting as much time playing the game as possible, but it's important to also take time to understand greater context and learn strategies to play even better.
Guest Chess masters & Special events
We look forward to hearing from a number of chess masters and fantastic chess coaches! They will share their stories of their relationship with chess, strategies on how to play the game, and offer advice and encouragement to chess enthusiasists. There will also be a number of other special events to spread the word and help support the chess community in the local San Francisco Bay Area.
