ABOUT
Bentley Chess Club was founded in the midst of the COVID pandemic. The remote schoolhouse did not provide enough student-to-student interaction and we were tired of video games like Fortnite, Minecraft, and Call of Duty, so we invited students to join our Chess.com site, and the rest is history.
We are open to all Bentley School students and teachers, regardless of skill level. Whether you are a skilled player who wants to sharpen your skills and test them competitively, or you just enjoy playing the game and don’t wish to compete, or you are a beginner who wants to learn how to play the game, we welcome you! Every member is important.
Benefits of Chess
Playing chess has been proven to help students enhance their creativity, improve their power of concentration, develop and expand critical thinking skills, boost memory and retention, and achieve superior academic performance. Additionally, chess has been shown to augment problem-solving capabilities, provide cultural enrichment, advance intellectual maturity, and enhance self-esteem. Most importantley, Bentley Chess Club provides an opportunity to have fun playing the game, staying connected with other students, and building skills all at the same time.
Vision
To spread the teachings and strategies of chess to all students and to live in a world where chess is taught in schools across the world.
Mission
To bring together chess enthusiasts at Bentley School and offer a place to enhance one's chess strategy while learning collaboratively.
